They tell you that African kings were selling their own people to the white man. Say I’m lying, prove me wrong. Let’s unpack this because on the surface level you are valid. But this statement is a trap and a lot of people try to use this to justify the white people that were enslaving Africans during that time. Because here’s what you have to understand. Slavery was not identified as the same thing across all cultures. Africans had a system of slavery, that is true, but their slavery was not based on an ideology saying that the people that were enslaved were not even human. It was based on the premise that might is right. Have defeated you, you can’t beat me, Go take care of my cow. They were never saying that the people that were enslaved were not even human. So when people say that slavery existed everywhere, that is a true statement. But not every form of slavery was the same. Chattel slavery was an American ingenuity, a system built on the concept that the people being enslaved were sub. That form of slavery didn’t exist in the Roman Empire. It didn’t exist in Africa, it didn’t exist anywhere on the planet before that. Think about this. When the Africans first encountered the Europeans, there was a language barrier and then there was not an understanding of each other’s culture. So when the African kings were selling their slaves to the Europeans, they were not aware of the form of slavery that they were selling them into. They thought that it was similar to what they had going African kings were not aware of what they were selling their people into. Do not fall for the trap that people try to lay when they say ohh slavery existed everywhere as if that’s a reason to justify what went on in America. Because American slavery was unlike any other slave system that ever existed on the planet before. The Roman Empire was not saying that the slaves that they had were not even human, and accepting the humanity of those enslaved people did not create a system as brutal as what Africans was the first and only group of people that was enslaved under an ideology that they were not even human. That is an American ingenuity. Because one of the first things you encounter when it comes to people who embrace a white supremacist ideology is that’s what they will say. Slavery existed everywhere and people buy into this notion that the African kings were just so broke as savages that the Europeans threw a few coins at and they sold them. Their people, the African canes were wealthier and have more resources than the Europeans that they encounter. The Europeans was thirsty, that’s why they were on boats looking for resources. The African kings were not on boats trying to find your because they had everything that they needed plentifully. This tells you the wealth of African kings. The richest person to ever exist in history is an African king named Massa Moosa. He was the king of Molly, and Molly sits on some of the largest gold reserves on the planet. This is how wealthy Massimo OSA was. He took a trip to Mecca and during that trip he gave out so much gold that it caused the value of gold to decrease for a generation. If you googled the richest person to ever exist, you’re going to encounter an African cane. The existing narrative is this, African kings were just some broke *** savages that sold their people to Europeans and that is not the case. It is a lot more complex than that and it wasn’t about money because the African kings were in a better ******* situation than the Europeans that they encountered
