Understanding the difference between my soul and my ego is crucial. My ego is the part of me that feels betrayed, hurt, and wronged because it’s tied to how I’m seen by the world. It’s not just about being the best, most beautiful, or most successful; it can also be about being the most betrayed, wronged, or abused. We often hold onto these identities because they define how we relate to others and ourselves.
There are valid reasons why we don’t get along with everyone in life. But on a soul level, as I was reminded by listening to Ram Dass’ “E Forest” song today, souls love each other beyond identity and story. When we move past the “you did this to me” narrative, we find that our souls simply love each other, and all the ego-driven conflicts fall away.
However, we live in a 3D world, dealing with human beings, not just souls. Both the soul and the ego exist within us, and navigating this duality can be challenging. We fumble through the process of learning to repair and find peace in our relationships, especially with those closest to us, like our parents.
Achieving harmony requires recognizing when our ego is at play and allowing our soul’s love to guide us. It’s about finding balance, understanding that while our ego may feel wronged, our soul seeks connection and love. By acknowledging both aspects, we can work towards peaceful relationships and inner tranquility.
